1. How can corporations, organizations or individuals become part of this historic venture?
Through sponsorships;
Placing an ad in the Souvenir Journal;
Purchasing tickets to attend the Black Legend Awards Ceremony;
Spreading the word to friends and family about the Black Legend Awards Ceremony
2. What is the Black Legends Awards – Silicon Valley?
The Black Legend Awards is a fundraiser and marketing tool for the creation of the future Black History Museum - Silicon Valley, in San Jose, to honor and recognize the Black Pioneers of the Silicon Valley;

The creation of a temporary Wall of Fame, showcasing the recipients of the awards, to be housed at the African American Community Service Agency until the Black History Museum - Silicon Valley is established

An educational tool to advise the world about these Black Pioneers and, more importantly, to inform today’s youth of the Black generations that came before them, including their successes, their stories and their footprints.

3. When did the Black Legend Awards begin? Is this the first ceremony?
We are currently celebrating the 2nd Annual the Black Legend Awards Ceremony. The concept for this Awards Ceremony began with the discussion of a Black History Museum in San Jose. This Journey began in September, 2013.
4. What awards are being presented at the premier Black Legend Awards - Silicon Valley Ceremony?
The Ten Inaugural awards are:
  • Art/Theatre/Music: Piper-Whye Award
  • Business & Entrepreneur: Clay-Williams Award
  • Community Service: Joyner-Stroughter Award
  • Education: Banks-Gage Award
  • Health & Medicine: English-Higgins Award
  • Law & Justice: Hardeman-Sweet Award
  • Public Service: Brown-Gross Award
  • News & Documentary: Alexander-Green Award
  • Spiritual: Harris-Washington Award
  • S.T.E.M: Dean-Greene Award (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
5. Who are the awards named after?
The ten (10) Award categories were named after those individuals whom made significant contributions to enhance the quality of life for the Black community and the general population in Silicon Valley. Their contributions to the community lasted over extended period of time They have had very distinguished career, and used their influence to enhance the lives of people in the Black Community.
